Offsetting Carbon
Alongside the work we will do to reduce our carbon footprint we recognise that even with the most aggressive carbon reduction strategy, the total carbon footprint of our company currently cannot be fully reduced.
Therefore, over the coming months we will be working alongside our partners to understand how we can offset our remaining footprint through land management, before looking at procuring offsets.
We will adopt the "Oxford Principles for Net Zero Aligned Carbon Offsetting" to guide the improvement activities that are being developed as part of its Land Management workstream within the company decarbonisation roadmap. It will strive to meet all of our offsetting needs through removals offsets, and only use reduction offsets where necessary due to customer, regulatory, market availability, or investment constraints.
