At Welsh Water, we have a duty to our customers and future generations to ensure we provide safe and reliable waste and water services.
Our work in Danescourt and Hailey Park will help ensure that our waste network is able to manage the increased flows that we are expecting from the Plasdŵr housing development, reducing the risk of network failure for the wider community.
We know that our work may cause disruption at times, and that’s why we want to ensure that we are working with the community to keep everybody informed. We’re seeking Community Ambassadors from various community groups across the Llandaff North and Danescourt communities to join our team to work collaboratively and have their say to make a difference in their local community.
What does it involve?
We want to ensure that the community is kept well informed every step of the way. Our community ambassadors will be responsible for helping us to engage with those in their local community, raising awareness about the work we are doing and sharing feedback with us so that we can address any concerns. They will be expected to speak with their neighbours and community groups that they are involved with to ensure they receive the correct information about our work.
They will be expected to:
- Participate in regular in-person meetings to find out about the progress being made and the key activities coming up. Meetings will be held approximately every six weeks and will be about 1 hour and 30 minutes long.
- Attend site visits to see the work first hand
- Share information materials within community hubs
- Gather feedback and share this with our project team
This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with one of the largest companies and employers in Wales as well as learning new skills which could help their professional development. The successful candidates will have opportunities to visit our operational sites to learn about our business as well as meet and present to senior leaders in the business.
